Why Has He Gone Where I Cannot Follow?

The Time Traveller's Wife has been my favourite book since i read it way back in 2005. I read it like twice a year. I was scared about the movie ruining the book, but went to see it today nevertheless. I cried from the get go (and continued to until I got home).

Seriously, take tissues and a balaclava to hide your face for afterwards. Every time i read the book i cry all the way through the second half, and with the movie, it's like they rushed through/cut out all the happy parts and focused on the heartbreaking parts. They made it seem as though their relationship was hard all the time.

That said, it didn't ruin the book, and I actually liked it way more than I thought I would; they did a brilliant job with Henry, Eric Bana was great. I just wish they had added maybe an extra half hour to show them having fun, Clare was never happy for very long and they should have developed her character more.
